Alternatively, please call the Gymnastics Victoria office on 03 9005 4700 or email [email protected] with your query. We look forward to supporting you on your pathway in Gymnastics in Victoria.
Note regarding gymnasts with Down Syndrome:
Gymnastics Victoria requires all gymnasts with Down Syndrome to receive medical clearance of Atlanto-Axial Instability prior to participation in gymnastics. Atlanto-Axial instability (AAI) is characterized by excessive movement at the join between the atlas (C1) and axis (C2) vertebrae, which may increase risk of injury in affected individuals. As a precaution, Gymnastics Victoria asks all clubs to be vigilant in requesting evidence of screening prior to participation. For more information click here or contact [email protected].
Young Athletes Program
The partnership between Gymnastics Victoria and Special Olympics Australia has established a Young Athletes Program for gymnastics. The inclusive multi-sport program develops fundamental
movement skills among children aged between 2 – 7 years of age. Gymnastics Victoria is committed to growing the Young Athletes Program and providing this as a recreational gymnastics pathway
for children with an intellectual disability.
To find a gymnastics club near you that runs a Young Athletes Program, please contact Gymnastics Victoria on 9005 4700 or email [email protected]
