Coach Conference Guest Presenters



Gymnastics Victoria are excited to be hosting three interstate presenters at our 2018 Coach Conference taking place on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 January 2018. 

As part of our Gymsport specific workshops on Day 2 we will welcome Stacey Umeh, Brett Austine and Regan Molyneaux for specialist workshops. 

With each of these coaches bringing fresh perspectives across different Gymsports we feel very lucky to have them as part of our Conference. 

Learn more about each of the guest presenters below. 

Stacey Umeh

Stacey Umeh is one of Australia’s leading elite Gymnastics coaches and movement specialists. With a strong history in coaching and choreographing Gymnastics Floor Routines, Stacey has also worked as a creative movement consultant in Synchronised Swimming, Figure-Skating and Dance.

Stacey has held the position of Artistic Preparation Specialist and Development Gymnastics Coach at the Western Australian Institute of Sport for the last three years. She is also the director of her own movement consultancy company called The Creative Movement Group Pty Ltd.

Stacey’s expertise in body conditioning, flexibility, gymnastics and dance movement vocabularies has assisted her in creating a unique approach to physical development, health and fitness, and sports coaching.

At our 2018 Coach Conference Stacey will be running two workshops titled “Musicality and Dance” and “Creativity and Expressiveness” at the State Gymnastics Centre in Prahran on Sunday 21 January. She will also be running an Athlete Clinic which you can book into here

Brett Austine

As a three-time World Champion, and 34-time Australian Champion, Brett Austine’s name is well known in Trampoline Gymnastics circles.

Following his retirement as an athlete, Brett ramped up his coaching and in 1986 he started East Lakes Trampoline Club where he still coaches today. A qualified Physical Education, Health and Personal Development Teacher, Brett has combined teaching and coaching for the last 23 years. The last eight years he has also held the position of NSW State Team Head Coach. Brett is also the current Australian Trampoline Head Coach.

Brett is also an international Trampoline Gymnastics judge and has judged numerous world events including the 2008 Bejing Olympics and the 2012 London Olympics.  

At our 2018 Coach Conference Brett will be running four workshops at Cheltenham Youth Club in Braeside on Sunday 21 January. 

Regan Molyneaux

Regan Molyneaux holds the position of Senior Development Coach at the Perth National Centre of Excellence and was formerly a coach at the Western Australian Institute of Gymnastics Program. 

At the end of 2016 Regan joined selected Senior Development Coaches and Head Coaches from MAG and WAG programs around Australia for a clinic for those who are currently coaching athletes aiming for the 2018 Commonwealth Games and 2020 Olympic Games.

Regan has sound experience in building high performance teams through determining personality styles and behaviours in order to deliver the most effective, tailored coaching to athletes, and develop teams based on these profiles. Regan also has knowledge on creating professional development plans for coaches as well as athletes.

At our 2018 Coach Conference Regan will be running two workshops titled “Rock Solid Foundations” and “The Big Tricks” at the State Gymnastics Centre in Prahran on Sunday 21 January.
