Gymnastics Victoria are proud of having so many fantastic clubs across the State. We will be featuring Club of the Month profiles – you can nominate a Club to be featured by clicking here.

In 2018 Werribee Gymnastics Club has gone above and beyond to innovate and extend their programming to cater for everyone in their community.

In the past 6 months, Werribee Gymnastics Club has collaborated with local allied health professionals, 'Creative Steps', to successfully introduce a therapy in gymnastics program. The program is delivered by allied health specialists including Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists to teach confident body movement and social skills in a gymnastics setting, catering for pre-school aged children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental conditions.

Following on from this success, Werribee Gymnastics Club has also piloted ASD Play Gym sessions for children aged 3-7 years, providing an opportunity to exercise, explore the gym and play in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for children and their families or carers.

In Term 4, Werribee Gymnastics Club will partner with the Annecto Disability Service to provide weekly gymnastics classes for adults with a disability in the local area.
In 2018 Werribee Gymnastics Club has been incredibly active in the broader Wyndham community. Their contributions have included:

- Providing 'Come and Try' gymnastics opportunities for adults with disability at the 2018 Glen Order All Abilities Sport Day

- Hosting a 'Move for Life' (Gymnastics for over 55's) workshop

- Providing free 'Come and Try' Move for Life sessions as part of the Victorian Senior's Festival and Wyndham Healthy & Active Expo

- Delivering gymnastics participation opportunities as part of Victoria University's 'V4U' day

Well done Werribee!
