Rhythmic, Trampoline and Acrobatic Gymnastics Nationals Preview
It’s now less that one week until the start of the 2018 Australian Gymnastics Championships!
The competition takes place over two weeks, with top gymnasts from each state and territory competing for the title of 2018 Australian Champion. With over 1,400 athletes competing, it is sure to be an exciting and action packed event. Five Gymsports will be on show, including disciplines of Women’s and Men’s Artistic, Rhythmic, Trampoline and Acrobatic Gymnastics. We are looking forward to watching our 263 Victorian competitors compete across all of the Gymsports at Hisense Arena.
The second week of competition will feature the Rhythmic, Trampoline and Acrobatic Gymnastics competitions. Victoria has 34 Rhythmic gymnasts, 65 Trampoline gymnastics and 39 Acrobatic gymnasts representing the state at this year’s competition.
Watch out for Commonwealth Games Bronze medalist Alexandra Kiroi-Bogatyreva competing in the Rhythmic Gymnastics competition. Make sure to catch Alex perform her spectacular Ball routine that won her the Bronze medal!
Also make sure to see Ryan Hatfield perform in the Trampoline competition. Ryan helped the Australian Team win the Bronze medal at the Trampoline World Championships in Bulgaria in 2017. After his win last year, Ryan said that he will keep aiming for gold and plans to increase the difficulty of his trampoline routines. He is definitely one to watch!
Good luck to all of the athletes competing over the two weeks of competition!
