Fitter for Life Participant Profiles



 In celebration of National Brain Awareness Week, we a highlighting our brilliant exercise program for Over 55’s, Fitter for Life! 

Participants from the Werribee Gymnastics Fitter for Life program answered some questions about their experience in the program. 

Robyn – Aged 69 

What do you enjoy most about attending “Fitter for Life”? 
The teacher Dee, the exercise program, the company of the participants who are very friendly and the talking and laughter – it’s fantastic.

What improvements have you noticed in your life as a result of your participation? 
More motivation and movement in my joints and it’s given me more balance. Overall I’m feeling great!

What would your recommendation be to another person who was considering trying the program? 
’Just do it’ – it’s fun, it’s a great exercise program. It keeps you motivated and energised.

Sue – Aged 75 

What do you enjoy most about attending “Fitter for Life”? 
The exercises and social interactions with new people. 

What improvements have you noticed in your life as a result of your participation? 
My body is more flexible. 

What would your recommendation be to another person who was considering trying the program? 
If you want to ease some of your aches and pains and enjoy interacting with other people, give Fitter for Life a try. We are lucky to have an excellent coach who makes our class enjoyable. Each week we are introduced to a different exercise. 

Liz – Aged 71 

What do you enjoy most about attending “Fitter for Life”? 
The wonderful company, the great exercise and all the wonderful laughs. 

What improvements have you noticed in your life as a result of your participation? 

It has been good for weight loss and fitness. 

What would your recommendation be to another person who was considering trying the program? 
Come along, the exercises are great and we have so much fun. Once you have tried our class you will want to come back, and the program is great value!

Seonaid – Aged 57 

What do you enjoy most about attending “Fitter for Life”? 
Social side, getting moving, group motivation and feeling fitter and more toned. 

What improvements have you noticed in your life as a result of your participation? 
More toned, more energy, lost weight, better coordination and balance. 

What would your recommendation be to another person who was considering trying the program? 

Come along! It’s a fun and supportive environment. 

Denise – Aged 64

What do you enjoy most about attending “Fitter for Life”? 
It is fun doing exercises with people your own age and there is no judgement if you’re not doing it right in the beginning. 

What improvements have you noticed in your life as a result of your participation? 

I feel I move a bit better because we do a lot of stretching in our class. 

What would your recommendation be to another person who was considering trying the program? 

Come along and have some fun learning how to do some different ways to exercise. It is such a great idea to get everyone together for the sole purpose of having fun with some exercise thrown in the mix. 

Pearl – Aged 70

Good fun whilst getting fitter. 

What improvements have you noticed in your life as a result of your participation? 

Improved mood and fitness.
