The East Gippsland Gymnastics Club is the Gymnastics Victoria Hero of the Month for January.

The East Gippsland Gymnastics Club has touched the hearts of many by throwing the doors open to their local community affected by the fires. The club has been allowing people to come and participate in gymnastics for free with parents/guardians able to drop off children who are over the age of five while those under five are able to come with an adult.

Having been a stressful summer with the bushfires and air quality still a problem, we’d like to applaud the East Gippsland Gymnastics Club for helping to support the community.

Below are just a few quotes recognising the club’s valuable contribution to the community.

“We came on Monday and I just wanted to thank you for opening your doors and creating such a wonderful opportunity for the community. All local kids have been impacted by the fires in some way either directly or indirectly and this was so wonderful for them to have fun and release some energy out of the smoke! The mixed age levels there on Monday was great as the littlies got to watch all the big kids do some cool stuff too! Thank you,” Kate Pemberton said.

“Thank you so much for the opportunity to get the kids out of the house and be active when they otherwise can’t be due to the smoke outside. You are a generous bunch,” Eran Neate said.

“This is great. Our kids would love to come and get out of the house but still be away from the smoke being indoors and get some exercise. Great idea,” Katie White said.

Awesome work everyone at East Gippsland Gymnastics Club!
